Welcome to Hazel Gower artist and film maker

Hazel Gower studied painting in Wales, her work has been exhibited widely and is in many private collections. Paintings in water colour include a series of flowers and plants for Habitat’s Gardeners Diary; a series of paintings of Irish traveller life which was exhibited at the Peacock Theatre Dublin; and Working at Wills, which records the working lives of women at the Wills cigar factory in Bristol, since demolished.

She is also a film maker and has worked on many films with art and history themes, and has directed independent award winning short art films which have been screened internationally.

Her pen and ink drawings were featured in ‘The Lost World of Dorothy Hartley ‘ Available Light productions for BBC4 in 2012.

Current work includes large scale oil portraits and small scale mosaic pieces.
